Overview
You can enable lead capture forms on your chat widget from the form settings tab of th chat widget settings. This allows you to collect visitor information via a form either optionally or mandatory.
Optional vs. Mandatory
If you have the form enabled, you can choose whether you would like to have the form mandatory or optional.
If the form is set to mandatory, contacts will not be created and they will not receive a reply from your CloseBot Agent until they fill out the form.
If set to optional, contacts can continue to chat with you or your Agent even if they choose to ignore the form.
See in this example how enabling optional changes the preview to show you how this will behave for your leads.
Form Message
This is the message that will be sent ahead of the form. If left blank, no message will send other than your welcome message set up within the chat general settings.
Form Fields and Button
You have control over which of our standard fields are included in the form, as well as which are mandatory. The placeholder fields and default country code for the phone number field are also able to be modified.
Display Immediately vs. Delayed Display
Some have experienced better lead conversion when the form is offered after the lead has sent their initial message. In this case, we still respect your settings for mandatory vs. optional, but the form will not be displayed until after the visitor has sent their first message if you choose delayed display.
Summary
A form can be a helpful way to force visitors who want to engage with your widget to release contact information. CloseBot gives you full control over the contents and display options of this form. Next, check out the page target settings to modify where your widgets display.
